OPENING March 3-May 21, 2017
High Museum of Art
Lauri Stallings will construct choreographic mappings for two site-specific installation environments by artist Daniel Arsham, as part of Arsham's Hourglass exhibition at the High. Stallings choreography will be performed by glo people movers. In one area, a young girl will move through Arsham's installation consisting of four large hourglasses, and in another, a mature man will move through a Japanese Zen garden installation. Activations will occur continuously every Sunday afternoon during regular museum hours for the entire duration of the Hourglass exhibition.
This project highlights the synchronicity and nomadic traces of Lauri's work. The Hourglass collaboration at The High is in tandem with Lauri's tableaux vivants for the Atlanta Symphony Ochestra's debut of Christoph Willibald Gluck's Orpheo.
